About
What we do
Mustache Power LLC is a video production company that helps companies and individuals stream and/or record live events like conferences, seminars, workshops, training meetings, classes, presentations, etc.
Oh yeah, we also do traditional videography and production of online demos, screencasts and stuff like that. Cool stuff, but it lacks the adrenaline rush of live production. While most video companies worth their salt can make a decent video to put on your website, it takes some serious Mustache Power to produce a professional live stream where you can’t edit out your mistakes in post production.
What we don’t
Wedding videos. Seriously. Just don’t ask. Even if you’re willing to pay a lot. There’s nothing wrong with getting married, in fact, we’re all for it, but editing hours of your sappy wedding footage drains the Mustache Power. . .so we don’t do it
Now if you want us to live stream your wedding to friends and relatives who can’t make it to your blessed and glorious day, well, we’ll consider it if you promise to have good food, but don’t expect us to edit it into an adorable scrap-book-in-video-form memory DVD afterward.
The Team
Right now Mustache Power is a one-man operation run by Clark Winegar. Errr, wait… Wow! What an egotist I am. That’s not even true. I do all of the video work, but Mrs. Mustache (my wife, Linda) also plays a huge role in the business. She helped build this site, does a lot of my design work, makes my famous mustache business cards, and lots of other things that keep the business rolling. Also, if you ever become a client, you can look forward to one of the awesome client thank you cards she makes for me. (Hint: they’re usually accompanied by something delicious and mustache-y)
We also hire freelance voice talent, grips, grunts, and cronies on an as needed basis.
The Name
A lot of people ask why the name of the company is Mustache Power. Usually I just reply, “Because mustaches are awesome and cosmically powerful.” That should be enough. I mean look at all the obvious examples.

But really that’s my answer because the true story is too long to tell in business settings, and I get a little too into it. It would make a good story for The Moth, but at a conference, people start to squirm a little after I’ve been monologuing the history of Mustache Power for five minutes with no signs of stopping. Their eyes start shifting and I can tell they want to say, “Hey mustache dude, can’t you see I’ve got a ton of other people to network with? Cut to the chase already!”
So here’s the story as short as I can make it: In college a buddy and I somehow ended up working as pest control technicians for a summer. Despite our partial college education and arrogant belief that we were smarter than your average, everyday bug guys, we noticed that we didn’t seem to garner the same respect and trust that other technicians in our office did. Then one day we noticed a certain predisposition towards mustaches among our fellow bug sprayers and wondered if that were the key to their success. We tested our theory by growing mustaches, and it was like magic. Instant trust. I’m sure this sounds tough to believe, but we conducted the social experiment several times over the summer shaving and re-growing mustaches. We cataloged all our findings (not really) and analyzed them thoroughly. The data was overwhelming: Mustaches have a secret hidden power (at least if your a bug guy, anyway).
When I first started messing around with filmmaking and video work, one of the first shorts I made (with my bug spraying companion and other mustache and movie enthusiasts) was about this experience and is titled, you guessed it, Mustache Power (disclaimer: if you choose to watch the short, remember it was one of my first films and know that my current work is better). After that, the name stuck and all my projects became Mustache Power Productions.
Wait, why don’t you have a mustache?
I do… sometimes. See…
But since you’re asking, you probably saw me at an event without a mustache. This is not uncommon since Mrs. Mustache doesn’t like kissing me when I have one. Since I really like kissing Mrs. Mustache, I’m clean shaven more often than not.
While this may seem like a bit of a contradiction, we believe that true Mustache Power relates more to your attitude and product or service. It’s a way of thinking and a way or life. It represents the small things that separate the professional and great from that which is amateur or imitation. In pest control, that something is a mustache. In live video production, it’s a culmination of good audio and video, a properly optimized and encoded live stream, a high definition recording, expert live video mixing, and more. In short, it’s the type of service we provide.
Now, what’s your “mustache power?”
